AN ACT ESTABLISHING A BABY BONDS PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish a baby bonds 1
program, in which each child born in the state is given a two-thousand-2
five-hundred-dollar bond at birth, to which one thousand dollars is 3
added each year, and which is held in trust by the state until the child 4
reaches eighteen years of age. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that each child in the state has a level of financial security as
they transition into adulthood.
