9-AN ACT ESTABLISHING A VETERANS AND MILITARY TOURISM

20+AN ACT CREATING A VETERANS AND MILITARY TOURISM TRAIL.
1121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1222 Assembly convened:

14-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2021) The Commissioner of
15-Veterans Affairs, or the commissioner's designee, may (1) establish, in
16-consultation with the Department of Economic and Community
17-Development, a Veterans and Military Tourism Trail linking museums,
18-memorials, battleground sites and other historic sites in the state
19-relating to veterans and the United States armed forces, and (2) publicize
20-the existence of the Veterans and Military Tourism Trail and shall
21-publish a brochure that indicates the location and history of each site,
22-provided said commissioner shall solicit private donations to cover the
23-entire cost of such publicizing and publishing.

25+and Community Development, in consultation with the Commissioner 2
26+of Veterans Affairs, or the commissioner's designee, shall establish a 3
27+Veterans and Military Tourism Trail linking museums, memorials, 4
28+battleground sites and other historic sites in the state relating to veterans 5
29+and the United States armed forces. The Department of Economic and 6
30+Community Development and the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs, 7
31+or the commissioner's designee, shall jointly determine which 8
32+museums, memorials, battleground sites and other historic sites to 9
33+include in the Veterans and Military Tourism Trail. The Department of 10
34+Economic and Community Development shall establish a program to 11
35+publicize the existence of the Veterans and Military Tourism Trail and 12
36+shall publish a brochure that indicates the location and history of each 13
37+site. The Commissioner of Veterans Affairs, or the commissioner's 14
38+designee, shall solicit funds to cover the costs of implementing such 15
