1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE INCLUSION OF FINANCIAL LITERACY
1919 INSTRUCTION AS PART OF THE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION
2020 REQUIREMENTS.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That section 10-221a of the general statutes be amended to include as 1
2525 part of the high school graduation requirements a course in financial 2
2626 literacy, which may include, but not be limited to, an understanding of 3
2727 checking and savings accounts, loans, mortgages, credit cards, annual 4
2828 percentage rates, compound interest, budgeting, stocks and other 5
2929 financial instruments. 6
3030 Statement of Purpose:
3131 To require all Connecticut high school students to complete a course in
3232 financial literacy so that they will obtain broad financial literacy skills.
