AN ACT AMENDING THE BOTTLE BILL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to expand the scope of the 1
bottle bill to include nip bottles, juices, teas and sport drinks, increase 2
the deposit fee to ten cents, increase the handling fee and allow 3
unclaimed deposits to be retained by distributors. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce the amount of municipal solid waste and litter, increase
recycling rates, and support recycling businesses.
