AN ACT CONCERNING A MUNICIPAL OPTION FOR PROPERTY TAX
ABATEMENT FOR SURVIVING CHILDREN OF POLICE OFFICERS,
FIREFIGHTERS AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 12-81x of the general statutes be amended to extend the 1
municipal option to abate property taxes on the principal residence of 2
the surviving spouse of a police officer, firefighter or emergency medical 3
technician who dies while in the performance of duties, to the surviving 4
children of such officer, firefighter or technician provided the spouse of 5
such officer, firefighter or technician has also died. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To honor the families of first responders who have died in the line of
duty.
