AN ACT DEDICATING A PORTION OF THE REVENUE FROM 
CERTAIN TAXES TO LOWERING MOTOR VEHICLE MILL RATES AND 
INCREASING FUNDING FOR EDUCATION COST SHARING. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to dedicate a portion of the 1 
revenue generated from the imposition of a new tax or an increase in the 2 
rate of an existing tax to (1) provide grants to municipalities to lower 3 
their mill rates for motor vehicles, particularly those municipalities with 4 
a mill rate of thirty or higher, and (2) increase the amounts allocated to 5 
education cost sharing, particularly for alliance school districts and 6 
school districts located in low-income communities. 7 
Statement of Purpose:   
To dedicate a portion of the revenue generated from the imposition of a 
new tax or an increase in the rate of an existing tax to lowering motor 
vehicle mill rates and increasing funding for education cost sharing.
