AN ACT CONCERNING CHANGES MADE TO A HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY DURING A POLICY YEAR. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to provide that no 1 health insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, renews, amends or 2 continues an individual or group health insurance policy in this state 3 shall: (1) Change the terms of such policy during a policy year unless an 4 insured requests such change; or (2) make any global change to the 5 policies issued by such health insurer unless such health insurer 6 provides advance written notice to participating providers disclosing 7 such change. 8 Statement of Purpose: To provide that no health insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, renews, amends or continues an individual or group health insurance policy in this state shall: (1) Change the terms of such policy during a policy year unless an insured requests such change; or (2) make any global change to the policies issued by such health insurer unless such health insurer provides advance written notice to participating providers disclosing such change.
