AN ACT CONCERNING SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to authorize any municipality 1 that does not have a local police department or resident state trooper 2 and any member municipality of a regional school district that does not 3 have a local police department or resident state trooper to employ a 4 school resource officer, provided (1) such officer reports to the state 5 police troop having jurisdiction over the municipality, (2) such officer 6 completes training developed and administered by the Police Officer 7 Standards and Training Council, and (3) costs associated with the 8 employment of such officer shall not be subject to the municipality's 9 minimum budget requirement. 10 Proposed Bill No. 5982 LCO No. 1753 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To permit all municipalities to employ school resource officers.
