AN ACT CONCERNING ERASED CRIMINAL RECORDS AND THE
REVIEW OF FIREARM PERMIT APPLICATIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That titles 29 and 54 of the general statutes be amended to permit 1
chiefs of police and the Board of Firearms Permit Examiners, in order to 2
determine an applicant's suitability to hold a permit to carry a pistol or 3
revolver, to access records of arrests in the case of domestic violence 4
offenses that resulted in a nolle causing such arrest records to be subject 5
to erasure. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To permit chiefs of police and the Board of Firearms Permit Examiners
to access arrest records resulting in a nolle in the case of a domestic
violence offense in order to determine an applicant's suitability to hold
a permit to carry a pistol or revolver.
