20	19		AN ACT REQUIRING A STUDY OF THE EFFECTS OF INCLUDING
21	20		FIRE DISTRICTS IN THE PILOT PROGRAM.
22	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
23	22		Assembly convened:

25	24		Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Secretary of the Office of Policy 1
26	25		and Management shall study the costs and public safety benefits of 2
27	26		providing a state grant in lieu of taxes to fire districts. Not later than 3
28	27		January 1, 2022, the secretary shall submit the results of such study, in 4
29	28		accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, 5
30	29		to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 6
31	30		cognizance of matters relating to public safety and security. 7
32	31		This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
