1818 AN ACT PROHIBITING GOVERNMENT ENTITIES FROM TRACKING
1919 PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLES.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to prohibit any government entity 1
2424 from using an automated number plate recognition system and 2
2525 maintaining a record, including a video, that identifies the time and 3
2626 location of the operation of a passenger motor vehicle, except that the 4
2727 Department of Correction or a law enforcement agency may use such 5
2828 system and maintain such records in the investigation of a crime.6
2929 Statement of Purpose:
3030 To protect personal privacy by prohibiting a government entity from
3131 tracking passenger motor vehicles.
