| 25 | 25 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General |

| 26 | 26 | | Assembly convened: |

| 28 | 28 | | That subdivision (2) of subsection (b) of section 10-285a of the general 1 |

| 29 | 29 | | statutes be amended to increase the amount of the regionalization bonus 2 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | for a new construction or renovation school building project grant from 3 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | ten per cent to fifteen per cent for all towns establishing or expanding a 4 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | regional school district, and to increase such bonus to twenty per cent if 5 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | two or more towns establishing or expanding a regional school district 6 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | are distressed municipalities, as defined in section 32-9p of the general 7 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | statutes; and, that chapter 172 of the general statutes be amended to 8 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | provide a regionalization bonus grant to any distressed municipality 9 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | that establishes a regional school district and that such grant shall be in 10 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | an amount equal to fifty per cent of the projected savings to the state 11 |
