AN ACT PERMITTING SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO INSTITUTE A CIVICS
LITERACY ASSESSMENT FOR STUDENTS IN GRADE ELEVEN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 170 of the general statutes be amended to permit a local 1
or regional board of education to require students in grade eleven to 2
take a civics literacy assessment that measures essential knowledge of 3
United States civics and history. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To permit school districts to institute a civics literacy assessment for
students in grade eleven.
