In addition, the bill is not anticipated to result in a fiscal impact to the Department of Social Services (DSS) associated with the consideration of work-study requirements for purposes of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility for students. The bill's change (from eligibility based on participation in a work-study program to approval for one) conforms to current practice as allowed under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, for the duration of the public health emergency.
