AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY RACIAL INEQUITY AND INEQUALITY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That a task force be created to (1) identify and document the 1 institution of slavery that existed within this country historically and, in 2 particular, this state, (2) make recommendations for legislation to 3 reverse existing racial disparities attributable to ongoing state policies 4 and practices, (3) design a plan for the state to support enactment of a 5 federal project of reparations for all American descendants of chattel 6 slavery, and (4) submit a written report of its findings and 7 recommendations to the General Assembly not later than one year from 8 the date of the initial meeting of the task force. 9 Statement of Purpose: To establish a task force to study current and historical racial inequity and inequality.
