25 | 25 | That title 31 of the general statutes be amended to establish statutory 1 | |
26 | 26 | standards for reasonable noncompete agreements, including that (1) 2 | |
27 | 27 | each agreement be written, signed by the employer and employee and 3 | |
28 | 28 | state that the employee has a right to consult with counsel prior to 4 | |
29 | 29 | signing; (2) the employer provide notice of the agreement to the 5 | |
30 | 30 | employee; (3) an employer who requires an employee to sign a 6 | |
31 | 31 | noncompete agreement prior to beginning employment provide a copy 7 | |
32 | 32 | of the agreement to the employee either before making a formal offer or 8 | |
33 | 33 | ten days prior to the start of employment, whichever comes first; (4) an 9 | |
34 | 34 | employer who requires an employee to sign a noncompete agreement 10 | |
