2121 AN ACT CONCERNING NONCOMPETE AGREEMENTS.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 That title 31 of the general statutes be amended to establish statutory 1
2626 standards for reasonable noncompete agreements, including that (1) 2
2727 each agreement be written, signed by the employer and employee and 3
2828 state that the employee has a right to consult with counsel prior to 4
2929 signing; (2) the employer provide notice of the agreement to the 5
3030 employee; (3) an employer who requires an employee to sign a 6
3131 noncompete agreement prior to beginning employment provide a copy 7
3232 of the agreement to the employee either before making a formal offer or 8
3333 ten days prior to the start of employment, whichever comes first; (4) an 9
3434 employer who requires an employee to sign a noncompete agreement 10
3535 during employment provide notice of the agreement not less than ten 11
3636 business days before the agreement becomes effective; and (5) non-12
3737 compete agreements during employment be supported by 13
