WELANDER, 114th Dist. REP. FOSTER, 57th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING LAW ENFORCEMENT UNIT ACCREDITATION AND STANDARDS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 7-294ee of the general statutes be amended to eliminate 1 the requirement that each law enforcement unit obtain and maintain 2 accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement 3 Agencies, Inc. beginning on January 1, 2025, and permit such units to 4 meet either the standards set by the commission or the Police Officer 5 Standards and Training Council. 6 Statement of Purpose: To allow law enforcement units to comply with accreditation standards in a manner that is cost efficient to municipalities.
