AN ACT CONCERNING AN ELECTRIC GENERATOR 
REIMBURSEMENT PROGRA M. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. (Effective from passage) On or before September 1, 2021, the 1 
Public Utilities Regulatory Authority shall initiate a proceeding to 2 
consider the implementation of a program allowing customers of an 3 
electric distribution company, as defined in section 16-1 of the general 4 
statutes, to apply with such company for reimbursement of an electric 5 
generator purchased due to a medical necessity, as determined by the 6 
authority. Such program shall (1) establish a procedure for customers of 7 
such company to offer proof of such purchase and such medical 8 
necessity for such generator, and (2) prevent the recovery of costs 9 
incurred by an electric distribution company pursuant to this section. 10 
On or before January 15, 2022, the authority shall  report, in accordance 11 
with section 11-4a of the general statutes, the results of such proceeding 12 
to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 13 
cognizance of matters relating to energy. 14  Raised Bill No.  6522

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:

To direct the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to initiate a 
proceeding to consider the implementation of a reimbursement 
program for electric distribution company customers who purchase an 
electric generator due to a medical necessity.
