| 22 | 22 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General |

| 25 | 25 | | Section 1. (Effective from passage) On or before September 1, 2021, the 1 |

| 26 | 26 | | Public Utilities Regulatory Authority shall initiate a proceeding to 2 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | consider the implementation of a program allowing customers of an 3 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | electric distribution company, as defined in section 16-1 of the general 4 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | statutes, to apply with such company for reimbursement of an electric 5 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | generator purchased due to a medical necessity, as determined by the 6 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | authority. Such program shall (1) establish a procedure for customers of 7 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | such company to offer proof of such purchase and such medical 8 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | necessity for such generator, and (2) prevent the recovery of costs 9 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | incurred by an electric distribution company pursuant to this section. 10 |

| 35 | 35 | | On or before January 15, 2022, the authority shall report, in accordance 11 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | with section 11-4a of the general statutes, the results of such proceeding 12 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 13 |
