| 24 | 24 | | (b) The content of the model curriculum shall (1) be rigorous, aligned 6 |

| 25 | 25 | | with curriculum guidelines approved by the State Board of Education, 7 |

| 26 | 26 | | and in accordance with the state-wide subject matter content standards, 8 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | adopted by the state board pursuant to section 10-4 of the general 9 |

| 28 | 28 | | statutes, (2) be in accordance with the program of instruction and subject 10 |

| 29 | 29 | | matter requirements prescribed in section 10-16b of the general statutes, 11 |

| 30 | 30 | | and (3) include and integrate throughout such model curriculum at least 12 |

| 48 | 48 | | private materials, personnel and other resources, and accept gifts, grants 24 |

| 49 | 49 | | and donations, including in-kind donations, designated for the 25 |

| 50 | 50 | | development of the model curriculum under this section. 26 |
|---|
| 51 | 51 | | (d) The Department of Education shall make the model curriculum 27 |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | available to local and regional boards of education and on the 28 |
|---|
| 53 | 53 | | department's Internet web site. 29 |
|---|
| 54 | 54 | | Sec. 2. (Effective July 1, 2021) Not later than January 15, 2023, the 30 |
|---|
| 55 | 55 | | department, in consultation with the State Education Resource Center, 31 |
|---|
| 56 | 56 | | shall submit a description of the model curriculum, which includes the 32 |
|---|
| 57 | 57 | | scope and sequence and course objective, and a report on the 33 |
|---|
| 58 | 58 | | development and review of such course to the joint standing committee 34 |
|---|
| 59 | 59 | | of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to 35 |
|---|
| 60 | 60 | | education, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the 36 |
