9	14		AN ACT CONCERNING TH E LEASE OF A PARCEL OF STATE LAND
10	15		IN THE CITY OF MILFORD.
11	16		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
12	17		Assembly convened:

14		-	Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision
15		-	of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental
16		-	Protection shall lease to the Connecticut Audubon Society for a twenty-
17		-	five-year period, a parcel of land in the city of Milford for the sum of
18		-	one dollar, which lease may be further extended, in the discretion of the
19		-	commissioner. Said parcel of land has a total area of approximately 8.4
20		-	acres and is identified as the parcel described in a lease agreement dated
21		-	October 10, 1986, and recorded in Book 1524 at Page 167 of the City of
22		-	Milford Land Records. The lease and any extension of such lease shall
23		-	be subject to the approval of the State Properties Review Board.
24		-	(b) The Connecticut Audubon Society shall use said parcel of land for
25		-	open space purposes with public access, as determined by the
26		-	Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection and as
27		-	provided for in the lease agreement. If the Connecticut Audubon
28		-	Society:
29		-	(1) Does not use said parcel for said purposes; or

36		-	lease of said parcel of land and any extension of such lease not later than
37		-	thirty days after it receives a proposed agreement from the Department
38		-	of Energy and Environmental Protection. The land shall remain under
39		-	the care and control of said department until a lease is entered into in
40		-	accordance with the provisions of this section. The Commissioner of
41		-	Energy and Environmental Protection shall have the sole responsibility
42		-	for all other incidents of such lease.
