914 AN ACT CONCERNING TH E LEASE OF A PARCEL OF STATE LAND
1015 IN THE CITY OF MILFORD.
1116 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1217 Assembly convened:

14-Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision
15-of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental
16-Protection shall lease to the Connecticut Audubon Society for a twenty-
17-five-year period, a parcel of land in the city of Milford for the sum of
18-one dollar, which lease may be further extended, in the discretion of the
19-commissioner. Said parcel of land has a total area of approximately 8.4
20-acres and is identified as the parcel described in a lease agreement dated
21-October 10, 1986, and recorded in Book 1524 at Page 167 of the City of
22-Milford Land Records. The lease and any extension of such lease shall
23-be subject to the approval of the State Properties Review Board.
24-(b) The Connecticut Audubon Society shall use said parcel of land for
25-open space purposes with public access, as determined by the
26-Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection and as
27-provided for in the lease agreement. If the Connecticut Audubon
28-Society:
29-(1) Does not use said parcel for said purposes; or
30-(2) Subleases all or any portion of said parcel, Substitute House Bill No. 6679

35-(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of the
36-lease of said parcel of land and any extension of such lease not later than
37-thirty days after it receives a proposed agreement from the Department
38-of Energy and Environmental Protection. The land shall remain under
39-the care and control of said department until a lease is entered into in
40-accordance with the provisions of this section. The Commissioner of
41-Energy and Environmental Protection shall have the sole responsibility
42-for all other incidents of such lease.
