9-AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONVEYANCE OF A PARCEL OF
10-STATE LAND IN THE TOWN OF NORTH HAVEN.
14+AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF A PA RCEL OF STATE
15+LAND IN THE TOWN OF NORTH HAVEN.
1116 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

14-Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision
15-of the general statutes, the chairperson of the Board of Regents for
16-Higher Education shall convey to Area Cooperative Educational
17-Services a parcel of land located in the town of North Haven, at a cost
18-equal to the administrative costs of making such conveyance. Said
19-parcel of land has an area of approximately 20.0313 acres and is
20-identified as Lot 043 on town of North Haven Assessor's Map 075 and
21-is further identified as "AREA = 20.0313 ACRES" on a map entitled
22-"State of Connecticut, Department of Administrative Services, Bureau of
23-Public Works, Plot Plan, Town of North Haven, Orchard Hill Junior
24-High School, 88 Bassett Road, North Haven, CT, Project No. 854403,
25-Drawing No. 1, Philip W. Genovese & Associates Inc., Engineers & Land
26-Surveyors, Hamden, Connecticut, Scale 1"=80', Date: October 31, 1985".
27-The conveyance shall be subject to the approval of the State Properties
28-Review Board.
29-(b) (1) Area Cooperative Educational Services shall use said parcel of
30-land for purposes of a magnet school or other educational purposes. If

34+(b) Area Cooperative Educational Services shall use said parcel of 16
35+land for purposes of a magnet school or other educational purposes. If 17

35-(A) Does not use said parcel for either of said purposes;
36-(B) Does not retain ownership of all of said parcel; or
37-(C) Leases all or any portion of said parcel,
38-the parcel shall revert to the state of Connecticut.
39-(2) The Board of Regents for Higher Education shall retain an
40-easement for the operation of an automotive program on said parcel
41-until such program is moved to a new location. The Board of Regents
42-for Higher Education and Area Cooperative Educational Services shall
43-enter into an agreement concerning said easement, which shall include
44-terms for the operation of such program until the program is moved to
45-such new location.
46-(3) Said parcel shall be subject to an easement in favor of the town of
47-North Haven for recreational purposes.
48-(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of the
49-conveyance of said parcel of land not later than thirty days after it
50-receives a proposed conveyance agreement from the Board of Regents
51-for Higher Education, which shall incorporate the agreement described
52-in subdivision (2) of subsection (b) of this section. The land shall remain
53-under the care and control of the Board of Regents for Higher Education
54-until a conveyance is made in accordance with the provisions of this
55-section. The State Treasurer shall execute and deliver any deed or
56-instrument necessary for a conveyance under this section, which deed
57-or instrument shall include provisions to carry out the purposes of
58-subsection (b) of this section. The chairperson of the Board of Regents
59-for Higher Education shall have the sole responsibility for all other
60-incidents of such conveyance.

43+(1) Does not use said parcel for either of said purposes; 19

46+the parcel shall revert to the state of Connecticut. The Board of Regents 22
47+for Higher Education shall retain an easement for the operation of an 23
48+automotive program on said parcel until such operation is moved to a 24
49+new location, which operation shall be on terms agreed to by both the 25
50+Board of Regents for Higher Education and Area Cooperative 26
51+Educational Services in the agreement described in subsection (c) of this 27
52+section. 28
53+(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of the 29
54+conveyance of said parcel of land not later than thirty days after it 30
55+receives a proposed agreement from the Board of Regents for Higher 31
56+Education. The land shall remain under the care and control of the 32
57+Board of Regents for Higher Education until a conveyance is made in 33
58+accordance with the provisions of this section. The State Treasurer shall 34
59+execute and deliver any deed or instrument necessary for a conveyance 35
60+under this section, which deed or instrument shall include provisions to 36
61+carry out the purposes of subsection (b) of this section. The chairperson 37
62+of the Board of Regents for Higher Education shall have the sole 38
63+responsibility for all other incidents of such conveyance.39
