2020 AN ACT CONCERNING FI NANCIAL ASSISTANCE F OR POST-
2121 SECONDARY EDUCATION EXPENSES FOR CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS

2323 FAMILIES' FOSTER CARE PROGRAM.
2424 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2525 Assembly convened:

2727 Section 1. (Effective from passage) Not later than October 1, 2021, the 1
2828 Commissioner of Children and Families shall amend the Department of 2
2929 Children and Families policy 25-2, effective January 2, 2019, concerning 3
3030 financial assistance for post-secondary education expenses, by 4
3131 expanding the eligibility criteria to receive assistance under said policy 5
3232 to include any individual adopted through the department's foster care 6
3333 program on or after January 1, 2001, provided (1) such individual meets 7
3434 all other eligibility requirements of said policy, and (2) any assistance 8
3535 received by such individual shall not exceed such individual's 9
3636 demonstrated financial need, as determined by the Federal Student Aid 10
3737 Office of the United States Department of Education. 11
3838 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
3939 sections:
