AN ACT LOWERING THE AGE OF ELIGIBILITY FOR PROPERTY TAX 
RELIEF FOR SENIOR CITIZENS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to increase the 1 
number of elderly residents eligible for property tax relief and permit 2 
municipalities to exempt from taxation one motor vehicle belonging to 3 
a person seventy-one years of age or older who has resided in the 4 
municipality for not less than forty years. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To increase the number of elderly residents eligible for property tax 
relief and permit municipalities to exempt from taxation one motor 
vehicle belonging to a person seventy-one years of age or older who has 
resided in the municipality for not less than forty years.
