AN ACT ELIMINATING THE REQUIREMENT FOR A CERTIFICATE OF NEED FOR CARDIAC HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO INVEST IN NEW FACILITIES OR EQUIPMENT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 19a-638 of the general statutes be amended to eliminate 1 the requirement for a cardiac health care provider to acquire a certificate 2 of need to invest in any new facility or equipment. 3 Statement of Purpose: To allow timely access to cardiac health care services that can mean life or death for patients in cardiac distress.
