AN ACT PROHIBITING THE FEEDING OF BLACK BEARS, 
ESTABLISHING A WILDLIFE ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND 
AUTHORIZING CERTAIN HAZING TECHNIQUES IN MUNICIPALITIES 
WITH A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF BLACK BEAR SIGHTINGS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit certain feeding of 1 
black bears and establish a wildlife advisory committee charged with 2 
developing a program to offer nonprojectile hazing pistols to animal 3 
control officers in towns that experience a significant number of bear 4 
sightings, as determined by data compiled by the Department of Energy 5 
and Environmental Protection.  6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To address black bear sighting and safety issues.
