AN ACT PERMITTING THE USE OF THE ARBITRATION PROCESS TO 
RESOLVE CHILD CUSTODY, VISITATION AND SUPPORT ISSUES IN 
A DIVORCE PROCEEDING. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 46b-66 of the general statutes be amended to permit the 1 
use of arbitration to resolve issues relating to child custody, visitation 2 
and support that arise in the context of a dissolution of marriage action, 3 
provided any arbitration agreement on such issues complies with the 4 
provisions of sections 46b-51, 46b-56, 46b-84 and 46b-215a of the general 5 
statutes. 6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To allow parties to a divorce proceeding to resolve issues relating to 
child custody, visitation and support through the arbitration process.
