AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE COVID -19 EMERGENCY EVICTION AND
FORECLOSURE PREVENTION ACT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide enhanced 1
protections to: (1) Tenants who face the prospect of eviction from a 2
rental unit due to the economic impact of COVID-19; and (2) 3
homeowners and other residential property owners who face the 4
prospect of foreclosure due to the economic impact of COVID-19. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To protect: (1) Tenants from eviction due to the COVID-19 pandemic;
and (2) homeowners and certain landlords from foreclosures due to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
