AN ACT CONCERNING A THREE -TIERED GRANTS IN LIEU OF
TAXES PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 12-18b of the general statutes be amended to revise the 1
calculation of the amounts of grants in lieu of taxes paid to 2
municipalities pursuant to said section, based on a municipality's 3
equalized net grand list per capita as follows: (1) For municipalities with 4
an equalized net grand list per capita of less than one hundred thousand 5
dollars per capita, fifty per cent of the amount calculated under said 6
section; (2) for municipalities with an equalized net grand list per capita 7
of one hundred thousand dollars to two hundred thousand dollars per 8
capita, forty per cent of the amount calculated under said section; and 9
(3) for municipalities with an equalized net grand list per capita of 10
greater than two hundred thousand dollars per capita, thirty per cent of 11
the amount calculated under said section. 12 Proposed Bill No. 170

Statement of Purpose:
To revise the calculation of the amounts of grants in lieu of taxes paid to
municipalities pursuant to section 12-18b of the general statutes, based
on a municipality's equalized net grand list per capita.
