AN ACT FACILITATING PROPERTY TRANSFERS BY RECIPIENTS OF
PUBLIC ASSISTANCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 17b-85 of the general statutes be amended to eliminate 1
the requirement that property owned by a recipient of public assistance 2
may not be sold, assigned, transferred, encumbered or otherwise 3
disposed of without the consent of the Commissioner of Social Services. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To allow conveyances of property of a recipient of public assistance to
be recorded in a timely fashion.
