AN ACT CONCERNING ASSESSMENTS AND USER FEES CHARGED
TO HEALTH CARRIERS BY THE CONNECTICUT HEALTH
INSURANCE EXCHANGE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 38a-1083 of the general statutes be amended to require 1
the exchange, established pursuant to section 38a-1081 of the general 2
statutes, to gain legislative approval before: (1) Modifying any existing 3
assessment or user fee charged to health carriers; or (2) charging any 4
new assessment or user fee to health carriers. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Connecticut Health Insurance Exchange to gain
legislative approval before: (1) Modifying any existing assessment or
user fee charged to health carriers; or (2) charging any new assessment
or user fee to health carriers.
