AN ACT CONCERNING LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL FOR THE MERGER
OR CLOSING OF INSTITUTIONS WITHIN THE CONNECTICUT STATE
COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10a-6 of the general statutes be amended to require 1
legislative approval for any recommendation of a merger or closure of 2
an institution within the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities by 3
the Board of Regents for Higher Education. 4
Statement of Purpose:
To require legislative approval for the merger or closing of institutions
within the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities.
