1818 AN ACT STRENGTHENING THE RIGHTS OF RESIDENTS OF LONG -
1919 TERM CARE FACILITIES AND GIVING THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES A
2020 GREATER VOICE.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That the general statutes be amended to (1) strengthen the rights of 1
2525 residents of long-term care facilities by allowing petitions to redress 2
2626 violation of their rights; and (2) provide a greater voice for resident and 3
2727 family councils by requiring (A) input from resident councils not later 4
2828 than seven days after the introduction of state-wide policies concerning 5
2929 long-term care facilities, and (B) that representatives of family councils 6
3030 be members of any state-wide task forces making recommendations 7
3131 concerning policies affecting living conditions for residents at long-term 8
3232 care facilities. 9
3333 Statement of Purpose:
3434 To implement the recommendations of the Nursing Home and Assisted
3535 Living Oversight Working Group.
