AN ACT PROHIBITING THE REFERRAL OF STUDENTS WITH INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PROGRAMS ENROLLED AT TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND CAREER SCHOOLS TO THEIR HOME SCHOOL DISTRICTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subsection (c) of section 10-76q of the general statutes be 1 amended to repeal the provision that permits a technical education and 2 career school to refer a student who requires special education to the 3 board of education in the town in which such student resides for the 4 development of an individualized educational program and that 5 requires such board of education to be responsible for the 6 implementation and financing of such individualized educational 7 program. 8 Statement of Purpose: To repeal the provision permitting the referral of a special education student enrolled in a technical education and career school to the school district in which such student resides.
