AN ACT CONCERNING VEGETATION MANAGEMENT BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of 1
Transportation to manage vegetation along highways and railroad 2
corridors to curtail unnecessary tree pruning and removal and to 3
prohibit the use of clear cutting in lieu of vegetation management and 4
conserve urban and edge forests through adherence to guidelines 5
developed to accomplish such goals. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To protect both the state's infrastructure and the state's green
infrastructure while contributing to the accomplishment of the state's
climate goals.
