AN ACT INCREASING THE STATE TAX RATE ON CERTAIN PRIVATE
INVESTMENT FUNDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to increase by five per cent the 1
rate of state tax on any private investment fund that owns a newspaper 2
publishing company and that enacts cost-saving measures that reduce 3
the salaries or retirement benefits of the employees of such newspaper 4
publishing company. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the state tax rate on certain private investment funds.
