22 | 22 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
23 | 23 | Assembly convened: | |

25 | 25 | That the general statutes be amended to provide that a child arrested 1 | |
26 | 26 | and charged with a larceny involving a motor vehicle be placed in 2 | |
27 | 27 | detention pending a hearing that shall be held on the next business day 3 | |
28 | 28 | following the child's arrest; that the court may issue an order to detain 4 | |
29 | 29 | the child in a detention center pending subsequent court hearings and a 5 | |
30 | 30 | disposition if the court finds that there is probable cause to believe that 6 | |
31 | 31 | the child has committed the acts alleged notwithstanding the additional 7 | |
32 | 32 | factors contained in subsection (e) of section 46b-133 of the general 8 | |
33 | 33 | statutes; and to require the automatic transfer from the docket for 9 | |
34 | 34 | juvenile matters to the regular criminal docket of the Superior Court the 10 | |
35 | 35 | case of any child charged with larceny that involves a motor vehicle. 11 | |

38 | 38 | and prosecute motor vehicle thefts committed by juveniles. |
