AN ACT PERMITTING MUNICIPALITIES TO ESTABLISH SPEED
LIMITS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subsection (a) of section 14-218a of the general statutes be 1
amended to allow local traffic authorities to establish lower speed limits 2
on streets under their jurisdiction by holding a public hearing regarding 3
such speed limits and providing notification of such speed limits to the 4
Office of the State Traffic Administration. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To permit municipalities to establish speed limits.
