LCO No. 5097 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 625 January Session, 2021 LCO No. 5097 Referred to Committee on COMMERCE Introduced by: (CE) AN ACT CONCERNING A DATABASE OF STATE BU SINESSES, SUPPLY CHAINS AND WO RKFORCE TOOLS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Department of Economic and 1 Community Development shall develop a plan to establish a database 2 of state businesses, supply chains and workforce tools, which shall be 3 modeled after similar databases established by Massachusetts, New 4 York and Rhode Island. Such plan shall be developed not later than 5 September 1, 2021, and provide for implementation of such plan not 6 later than July 1, 2022. Not later than December 1, 2021, the 7 Commissioner of Economic and Community Development shall submit 8 recommendations for any requisite legislative proposals for the 9 implementation of such plan to the joint standing committee of the 10 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce. 11 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Committee Bill No. 625 LCO No. 5097 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To require the Department of Economic and Community Development to develop a plan to establish a database of state businesses, supply chains and workforce tools .
