2021 AN ACT EXTENDING THE VALIDITY OF CERTAIN OCCUPATIONAL
2122 SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION TRAINING FOR PUBLIC

2324 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2627 Section 1. Subsection (c) of section 31-53b of the general statutes is 1
2728 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 2
2829 1, 2021): 3
2930 (c) Not later than January 1, 2012, the Labor Commissioner shall 4
3031 adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, to 5
3132 implement the provisions of subsections (a) and (b) of this section. Such 6
3233 regulations shall require that the ten-hour construction safety and 7
3334 health courses required under subsection (a) of this section be 8
3435 conducted in accordance with federal Occupational Safety and Health 9
3536 Administration Training Institute standards, or, in the case of a 10
3637 supplemental refresher training course, shall include, but not be limited 11
3738 to, an update of revised Occupational Safety and Health Administration 12
3839 standards and a review of required construction hazards training, or in 13
39-accordance with Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration 14 Committee Bill No. 662
40+accordance with Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration 14
41+Standards or in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.268, as appropriate. The 15

46-Standards or in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.268, as appropriate. The 15
4747 Labor Commissioner shall accept as sufficient proof of compliance with 16
4848 the provisions of subsection (a) or (b) of this section a student course 17
4949 completion card issued by the federal Occupational Safety and Health 18
5050 Administration Training Institute, or such other proof of compliance 19
5151 said commissioner deems appropriate, dated no earlier than [five] ten 20
5252 years before the commencement date of such public works project or, in 21
5353 the case of supplemental refresher training, a student course completion 22
5454 card issued by said Occupational Safety and Health Administration 23
5555 authorized trainer dated not earlier than five years prior to the date such 24
5656 electrician or plumber begins work on such public works project. 25
5757 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
