AN ACT REQUIRING THE BANKING COMMISSIONER TO STUDY THE 
FINANCIAL IMPACT CERTAIN OVERDRAFT PROTECTION 
PROGRAMS HAVE ON CUSTOMERS IN CERTAIN DISADVANTAGED 
COMMUNITIES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the Banking Commissioner be required to (1) conduct a study to 1 
determine the financial impact overdraft protection programs offered 2 
by Connecticut banks and Connecticut credit unions have on customers 3 
in certain disadvantaged communities, and (2) report the findings of 4 
such study to the General Assembly. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require the Banking Commissioner to conduct a study to determine 
the financial impact certain overdraft protection programs have on 
customers in certain disadvantaged communities.
