25 | 25 | | Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1 |
---|
26 | 26 | | to study ways to (1) ensure that the Office of the Long-Term Care 2 |
---|
27 | 27 | | Ombudsman has enough volunteers to reach out to residents receiving 3 |
---|
28 | 28 | | long-term care in nursing homes or from community-based programs, 4 |
---|
29 | 29 | | and (2) help such residents to address complaints about their care. 5 |
---|
30 | 30 | | (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 6 |
---|
31 | 31 | | (1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives, 7 |
---|
32 | 32 | | both of whom shall be residents' advocates appointed pursuant to 8 |
---|
33 | 33 | | section 17a-406 of the general statutes; 9 |
---|
34 | 34 | | (2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate, both 10 |
---|
35 | 35 | | of whom shall be representatives of senior centers; 11 |
---|
36 | 36 | | (3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 12 |

54 | 54 | | (c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (3), 25 |

55 | 55 | | (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member of the 26 |

56 | 56 | | General Assembly. 27 |

57 | 57 | | (d) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 28 |
---|
58 | 58 | | thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be 29 |
---|
59 | 59 | | filled by the appointing authority. 30 |

60 | 60 | | (e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president pro 31 |
---|
61 | 61 | | tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force from 32 |
---|
62 | 62 | | among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall schedule 33 |
---|
63 | 63 | | the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not later than sixty 34 |
---|
64 | 64 | | days after the effective date of this section. 35 |
---|
65 | 65 | | (f) The administrative staff of the Commission on Women, Children, 36 |
---|
66 | 66 | | Seniors, Equity and Opportunity shall serve as administrative staff of 37 |
---|
67 | 67 | | the task force. 38 |
---|
68 | 68 | | (g) Not later than January 1, 2022, the task force shall submit a report 39 |
---|
69 | 69 | | on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committees 40 |
---|
