20	20		AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUD Y INSURANCE
21	21		AND HEALTH CARE IN THIS STATE.
22	22		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
23	23		Assembly convened:

25	25		Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1
26	26		to study insurance and health care in this state. 2
27	27		(b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 3
28	28		(1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 4
29	29		(2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 5
30	30		(3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 6
31	31		Representatives; 7
32	32		(4) One appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 8
33	33		(5) One appointed by the minority leader of the House of 9
34	34		Representatives; 10

42	41		(7) The Insurance Commissioner, or the commissioner's designee; 12

44	43		(8) Two appointed by the Governor. 14
45	44		(c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 15
46	45		(2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 16
47	46		of the General Assembly. 17
48	47		(d) All initial appointments to the task force shall be made not later 18
49	48		than thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall 19
50	49		be filled by the appointing authority. 20
51	50		(e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president pro 21
52	51		tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force from 22
53	52		among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall schedule 23
54	53		the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not later than sixty 24
55	54		days after the effective date of this section. 25
56	55		(f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 26
57	56		General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to insurance 27
58	57		shall serve as administrative staff of the task force. 28
59	58		(g) Not later than January 1, 2022, the task force shall submit a report 29
60	59		on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of 30
61	60		the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to 31
62	61		insurance, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the 32
63	62		general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date that it 33
64	63		submits such report or January 1, 2022, whichever is later. 34
