AN ACT CONCERNING TH E CONVEYANCE OF A PARC EL OF STATE 
LAND IN THE TOWN OF CHESHIRE.  
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision 1 
of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Correction shall convey to 2 
the town of Cheshire a parcel of land located in the town of Cheshire, at 3 
a cost equal to the administrative costs of making such conveyance. Said 4 
parcel of land has an area of approximately 3.26 acres and is identified 5 
as the parcel of land located on Sandbank Road at the Cheshire 6 
Correctional Institution and is further identified as the combined two 7 
parcels depicted on Exhibit A "Site Plan or Property Description" of a 8 
lease entered into between the Department of Administrative Services 9 
and the town of Cheshire, which was approved by the office of the 10 
Attorney General on March 19, 2014 and is recorded in Volume 1775 at 11 
Page 238 of the town of Cheshire Land Records. The conveyance shall 12 
be subject to the approval of the State Properties Review Board. 13 
(b) The town of Cheshire shall use said parcel of land for purposes 14  Raised Bill No. 1117

of a school bus depot. If the town of Cheshire: 15 
(1) Does not use said parcel for said purposes; 16 
(2) Does not retain ownership of all of said parcel; or 17 
(3) Leases all or any portion of said parcel, 18 
the parcel shall revert to the state of Connecticut. 19 
(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of the 20 
conveyance of said parcel of land not later than thirty days after it 21 
receives a proposed agreement from the Department of Correction. The 22 
land shall remain under the care and control of said department until a 23 
conveyance is made in accordance with the provisions of this section. 24 
The State Treasurer shall execute and deliver any deed or instrument 25 
necessary for a conveyance under this section, which deed or instrument 26 
shall include provisions to carry out the purposes of subsection (b) of 27 
this section. The Commissioner of Correction shall have the sole 28 
responsibility for all other incidents of such conveyance. 29 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:
