1220 AN ACT CONCERNING PAYMENTS TO VOLUNTEER FIRE
1321 COMPANIES FOR RESPONDING TO CALLS ON LIMITED ACCESS
1422 HIGHWAYS AND AT CERTAIN OTHER LOCATIONS.
1523 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1624 Assembly convened:
1725 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2022) The State Fire Administrator 1
1826 shall pay seven hundred dollars to each volunteer fire company for each 2
19-call to which it responds on (1) a limited access highway, designated 3
20-pursuant to section 13b-27 of the general statutes, (2) the section of the 4
21-highway known as the Berlin Turnpike, which begins at the end of the 5
22-existing Wilbur Cross Parkway in the town of Meriden and extends 6
23-northerly along Route 15 to the beginning of a section of limited access 7
24-highway in the town of Wethersfield known as South Meadows 8
25-Expressway, or (3) the section of Route 8 in the town of Beacon Falls 9
26-which is within the boundaries of the Naugatuck State Forest. The State 10
27-Fire Administrator may designate a volunteer fire company to be 11
28-responsible for the extinguishing of fires on any portion of such 12
29-highways for which no fire protection is otherwise provided and, in 13
30-each such case, shall pay to such company seven hundred dollars per 14
31-year in addition to the seven-hundred-dollar fee for each call. 15
32-Sec. 2. Section 7-323r of the general statutes is repealed. (Effective July 16
