AN ACT CONCERNING ADVANCE RENTAL PAYMENTS.  
 
SUMMARY 
This bill eliminates the caps on the amount landlords can demand as 
a security deposit from tenants. Current law prohibits landlords from 
demanding a security deposit more than (1) two months’ rent for 
tenants who are under age 62 or (2) one month’s rent for tenants who 
are at least age 62. The bill eliminates these caps, allowing landlords to 
demand security deposits in higher amounts, and makes conforming 
changes.
