20	20		AN ACT EXEMPTING VETERANS FROM PAYMENT OF THE FARES
21	21		FOR BUS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SERVICES.
22	22		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
23	23		Assembly convened:

25	25		Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2022) Any person who is a veteran, 1
26	26		as defined in subsection (a) of section 27-103 of the general statutes, shall 2
27	27		be exempt from payment of the lawful charge for state-owned or state-3
28	28		controlled bus public transportation service, provided such person 4
29	29		presents to the fare inspector, as defined in section 13b-2 of the general 5
30	30		statutes, or the driver of such bus, as applicable, a motor vehicle 6
31	31		operator's license or identity card indicating such person's status as a 7
32	32		veteran, in accordance with subsection (e) of section 14-36h of the 8
33	33		general statutes. 9
34	34		This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
