| 24 | 24 | | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2023) For the fiscal year ending June 1 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 30, 2024, and each fiscal year thereafter, the Commissioner of 2 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Emergency Services and Public Protection shall establish a grant 3 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | program to provide funding to any municipality that seeks to hold a 4 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | special needs day that allows children with special needs to interact 5 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | with public safety personnel and learn about public safety issues. Not 6 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | later than October 1, 2023, the Department of Emergency Services and 7 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Public Protection shall post in a conspicuous place on the department's 8 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Internet web site a description of the grant program, including, but not 9 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | limited to, eligibility criteria and the application process for the 10 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | program. A municipality shall apply for such grants on such forms and 11 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | in such manner as determined by the department. 12 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Sec. 2. (Effective July 1, 2023) For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, 13 |

| 37 | 37 | | the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection shall 14 |
