AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF POLITICAL ACTIVITY BY
NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THAT RECEIVE STATE FUNDING OR
PASS-THROUGH GRANTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That (1) a study be conducted of ways to prohibit nonprofit 1
organizations that receive state funding or pass-through grants from 2
engaging in political activity, and (2) such study (A) include penalties 3
for violations, such as reduction or elimination of such funding or grants 4
and criminal liability, and (B) determine a process for reviewing claims 5
of such political activity. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To address political activity by nonprofit organizations that receive state
funding or pass-through grants.
