AN ACT REQUIRING SCHOOLS TO MEET RECOMMENDED BEST PRACTICES REGARDING CARDIAC HEALTH. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 10-212d of the general statutes be amended to require 1 that (1) every school develop a cardiac emergency response plan, (2) the 2 placement of automatic external defibrillators in schools follow the 3 guidelines set by the American Heart Association, (3) automatic external 4 defibrillators in schools be tested and maintained according to the 5 manufacturer's guidelines, and (4) school staff be trained in first-aid, 6 cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the proper use of automatic external 7 defibrillators as set forth by the American Heart Association. 8 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that schools are meeting recommended best practices concerning cardiac health.
